$500K MLSC Investment Powers MBI’s Worcester Campus

The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) team recently joined Massachusetts Biomedical Initiatives (MBI) to celebrate the installation of a new generator at MBI’s Worcester campus. Supported by a $500,000 investment from the MLSC, this new infrastructure will provide a new vital, reliable source of power for the life sciences startups at the facility.

This advancement is the latest example of the longstanding partnership between the MLSC and MBI to strengthen the life sciences ecosystem and drive economic development across Central Massachusetts.

To date, the MLSC has provided $9 million in support to MBI through capital grants, the Pathmaker and BioBoost programs, and internship programming. The Center has funded eight internships directly with MBI and supported more than 400 internships for current and former MBI-based companies. These investments have expanded MBI’s capacity to support life sciences companies and workforce development initiatives across the region.
