Just A Start Fast-Tracking Careers in Life Sciences

This past May, MLSC President and CEO Kirk Taylor, MD had the privilege of celebrating the latest graduates of Just A Start’s Biotechnology Careers Program. Since 2011, the MLSC has provided more than $1.6 million to support this program. The Adult Career Training Program offers a pathway to sustainable and fulfilling careers through a nine-month program providing adults with low- to moderate-incomes a comprehensive curriculum, including classroom instruction, hands-on lab work, career development training, and networking opportunities.

Just A Start also recently launched its Biotechnology Career Accelerator Program. Supported through the MLSC’s Pathmaker program, the nine-week intensive training is for individuals who are ready to enter careers in lab support and biomanufacturing.

“The life sciences industry in Massachusetts continues to grow, and the Biotechnology Career Accelerator Program is designed to create a direct pipeline for individuals seeking sustainable careers in the field,” said Korynn Stroyanoff, Director of Adult Career Training at Just A Start. “We are grateful for the support of the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center as we ensure our trainees develop the skills most in demand, helping them secure employment and build long-term career stability.”
