Ahead of Massachusetts STEM Week, the MLSC and the Healey-Driscoll Administration announced a total of more than $13 million in grant funding to support life sciences education and workforce development, including programming offered by colleges, public schools, and nonprofits.
These investments demonstrate the Commonwealth’s commitment to expanding access to high-quality STEM education while also building a robustand inclusive life sciences talent pipeline.
The awards include:
- $3.3 million in grants awarded through the STEM Equipment and Professional Development Grant Program to support life sciences education at 131 public schools.
- $9.5 million in capital funding awarded to 18 colleges and nonprofit post-secondary training organizations through the Workforce Development Capital Grant Program..
- $300,000 in grants awarded through the Out-of-School Time (OST) Grant Program to 8 nonprofit organizations providing life sciences out-of-school time programming.
These awards will enhance classroom learning, strengthen career pathways, and ensure that students at all levels are prepared for opportunities in the life sciences industry.
