The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) is now accepting applications for our Business Builds: Life Sciences program, formerly known as BioBoost, an initiative designed to support life sciences companies creating or expanding their operations in Massachusetts, particularly in biomanufacturing and advanced medtech manufacturing.
Business Builds: Life Sciences is designed to be a responsive and adaptive tool that meets current and future industry needs while supporting increased activity and career development in Massachusetts. The program provides capital grants in the range of $500,000 to $2,000,000 to help companies establish or expand their operations and support investments such as facility buildouts, renovations, equipment, and infrastructure. Funding will prioritize projects that demonstrate a broader public benefit and contribute to the larger life sciences ecosystem through opportunities such as workforce training, access or discounts for small local companies, and collaboration with nonprofit partners.
Eligible applicants include life sciences companies of any size seeking to establish, expand, or improve operations within the Commonwealth. The program will prioritize projects that create or expand biomanufacturing and advanced medtech manufacturing operations.
The application period will run from Aug. 24 through Oct. 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
Additionally, an early application deadline of Sept. 8 at 11:59 p.m. EST has been established for applicants seeking priority consideration.
