NECN Business Interviews Center’s President and CEO on December 19, 2014

December’s topics include new funding to help fight the Ebola outbreak, a new round of accelerator loans and how the center is developing new talent.

Susan Windham-Bannister, CEO and president of the Life Sciences Center, joined NECN to discuss the latest updates.

Bannister says the center has partnered with a non-profit organization that has developed a way to test for Ebola by using just a single drop of blood. A $1 million grant was given to the company “Diagnostics for All” to fund the research.

“The most incredible thing is it requires no electricity. So it really can be used in countries where there are not sophisticated labs,” said Bannister of the newly developed product.
