Worcester County Schools Receive $579,000 for Life Sciences Education

The office of Governor Maura Healey announced $13.1 million in awards through the MLSC’s STEM Equipment and Professional Development Grant program and Workforce Development Capital Grant program. The grants provide schools with necessary resources and training for educators designed to create a more skilled workforce and maintain Massachusetts as a leader in life sciences. Awardees in Worcester County received STEM Equipment and Professional Development Grants, which funds $2.8 million across 30 projects and affects over 37,000 students at 91 schools across the state. The awards also provide professional development for over 460 teachers.

Worcester County awardees include:

  • Worcester Public Schools: $339,671
  • Fitchburg Public Schools: $74,844
  • Quabbin Regional School District (Barre): $68,400
  • Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School: $59,716
  • Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School (Worcester): $36,894
