Resilience in Science: MLSC at 10x Genomics User Group Meeting

This October, the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) team was proud to join partners from across the scientific community at the 10x Genomics User Group Meeting (UGM) in Boston, a one-day event celebrating the theme of Resilience in Science. The convening highlighted innovative industry leaders, researchers, and labs that have overcome funding challenges, technical setbacks, and barriers to discovery.

As part of the day’s programming, MLSC President and CEO Dr. Kirk Taylor participated in a panel discussion on private funding in the life sciences. Dr. Taylor shared insights on public-private collaboration and highlighted the recent launch of the MLSC’s 2035 Fund, a new initiative designed to strengthen every layer of the life sciences ecosystem. Fellow panelists explored the current funding landscape and discussed how targeted investments can sustain innovation and strengthen Massachusetts’ leadership in the life sciences ecosystem.

The event also featured a keynote address by Massachusetts Director of Federal Funds and Infrastructure, Quentin Palfrey, who discussed the Healey-Driscoll Administration’s DRIVE Initiative and its role in advancing scientific resilience and economic growth in the Commonwealth for years to come.
