TransMedics Group, Inc., a global leader in organ transplant technologies and services, has announced plans to establish its new global headquarters at Assembly Innovation Park in Somerville, Massachusetts, supported by a proposed $18 million package through the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center’s (MLSC) Tax Incentive program, and matched by an additional $18 million incentive from the city of Somerville.
The performance-based incentive agreement supports long-term investment and job creation in the Commonwealth, with TransMedics committing to create at least 600 new jobs and maintain 900 total positions at its Somerville headquarters by 2032.
The new headquarters will support TransMedics’ operational expansion, bringing together corporate, research, development, and advanced manufacturing capabilities in a purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility. The move is expected to significantly enhance the company’s ability to attract and retain top talent to fuel scaling the organization globally.

Previously, in 2025, TransMedics was awarded over $1 million through the MLSC’s Tax Incentive program to support the creation of 55 new jobs, reflecting the Center’s partnership with the company as it continues to scale its operations in the Commonwealth.
The MLSC recently opened a new round of its Tax Incentive program to support life sciences companies of all sizes looking to expand efforts in research and development, commercialization, and manufacturing in Massachusetts.
