Kenn Turner Officially Joins the MLSC

Today, the MLSC officially began a new chapter with Kenneth Turner starting in the role as the Center’s new and permanent President and Chief Executive Officer.

“The MLSC remains steadfast in fulfilling its unique role of ensuring essential economic, workforce, and scientific development move forward here in the Commonwealth, the impact of which is realized around the globe,” said Massachusetts Housing & Economic Development Secretary Mike Kennealy, who serves as Co-Chair of the MLSC Board of Directors. “Kenn embraces this shared mission and we hope you will join us in welcoming him to the team as we continue to strengthen, protect, and leverage Massachusetts’ global leadership position in the life sciences.”

“Kenneth Turner brings an impressive record of leadership, skills, and management experience to the Massachusetts Life Science Center during this crucial period,” said Secretary for Administration and Finance Michael J. Heffernan, who serves as Co-Chair of the MLSC Board of Directors. “I look forward to his leadership as we work alongside his team to advance the Commonwealth’s role as a global leader in the life sciences.”

President Turner joins the MLSC at an exciting time with a recently launched new round of its Tax Incentive program, an active Seed Fund providing investments to early-stage companies in targeted locations across Massachusetts, capital funding opportunities, a robust portfolio of education and workforce development efforts, and a significant effort aimed at accelerating coronavirus testing solutions.

“While I hit the ground running here at the MLSC, I want to relay how sincerely grateful I am for this opportunity and am equally eager to get to know the many people who make up this wonderful community I am joining,” said President Turner. “I look forward to working with you all in the near future. I am already confident in the fact that our mission remains more important than ever and that I am blessed with a team here at the Center that is already demonstrating an unmatched level of professionalism, expertise, and commitment to our shared goal of maintaining Massachusetts as a beacon for life sciences excellence and the advancement of human health.”
