MLSC Celebrates Alnylam Groundbreaking

MLSC President and CEO Dr. Kirk Taylor recently joined Governor Maura Healey, Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development Lauren Jones, Alnylam Pharmaceuticals leadership, and members of the life sciences community to celebrate the announcement of Alnylam’s manufacturing expansion in Norton.

This $250 million investment will advance what is expected to become the industry’s first fully dedicated, proprietary siRNA enzymatic ligation manufacturing facility, further strengthening Massachusetts’ position as the global leader of life sciences innovation.

“Alnylam’s continued investment in Massachusetts underscores the Commonwealth’s role as a global leader in biomanufacturing,” said President Taylor. “This expansion will bring high-quality jobs to this area and ensure patients worldwide have the opportunity to benefit from medicines made right here in Massachusetts. We look forward to deepening our partnership as we work together to advance the thriving life sciences ecosystem here in the Commonwealth.”

The MLSC is proud to have supported Alnylam’s growth through our Tax Incentive program, with awards tied directly to job creation and long-term investment in Massachusetts. To date, the MLSC has supported Alnylam with over $14.5 million in Tax Incentive awards towards the creation of 905 jobs.
