MLSC Celebrates Opening of Terrestrial Bio’s Allston Headquarters and Manufacturing Facility

The MLSC’s Interim President and CEO Liz Graham recently joined Massachusetts Executive Office of Economic Development (EOED) Secretary Eric Paley and other state and industry leaders to celebrate the ribbon cutting of Terrestrial’s new advanced manufacturing facility and headquarters in Allston, MA.

This milestone marks a new chapter for the company, enabling it to scale manufacturing operations and expand technological capabilities through investments in automation, artificial intelligence, robotics, and advanced analytics.

The new facility will support the manufacturing of Tacterra™, Terrestrial’s needle-free Micro Array Patch (MAP) platform, designed to deliver GLP-1 weigh loss therapies in a revolutionary way. As a first-of-its-kind approach, the technology transform medicines traditionally administered by injection into a simple patch applied to the skin. Using microscopic projections to deliver therapies without conventional needles, syringes, or refrigeration, MAP helps make treatment more convenient and accessible for patients around the world.

As an early investor in Terrestrial, the MLSC has supported the company through multiple stages of growth. To date, the MLSC has invested more than $4.2 million through a variety of programs, including over $1.7 million through the Tax Incentive program, more than $1.4 million through Business Builds: Life Sciences (formerly BioBoost), and a $1 million Accelerator Loan awarded when the company operated as Vaxess Technologies. Terrestrial has also participated in the MLSC’s Internship program, helping strengthen Massachusetts’ life sciences workforce while advancing innovation.
